Joel Xavier

Joel Xavier has been a top-notch house music DJ since 1994, when he started organising the Kinky Kaos warehouse parties in London.
After the legal crack-down on unlicensed parties, Joel and his partner-in-crime, Andy Lekker, started a new London club night called Whoop! At the same time they launched a new progressive house label of the same name.
Whoop! Records soon became one of the most important UK progressive house labels, and is still a scene leader today. (See www.whoop.co.uk for more info on Whoop! Records)
In 1995 the Whoop! boys decided to team up with Terry Marks and Nick Hook, who were running a successful monthly club night called Loosen Up, and together they formed a new weekly progressive house night called Whoop It Up.
Whoop It Up ran for five and a half years, first at the Gardening Club and then at The Velvet Room, in the heart of London's West End. It soon became the most influential weekly progressive house night in the UK, and attracted some of the world's best DJs to do guest appearances. These have included Sasha, John Digweed, Seb Fontaine, Danny Howells, Nick Warren, Mark Picchiotti, Dave Seamen, Timo Maas, Tall Paul, Parks and Wilson, Chris Fortier and many more. All wanted to play to Whoop It Up's legendary crowd of switched-on clubbers, who created the best atmosphere in clubland.
With the success of Whoop It Up and Whoop! Records, Joel's DJing career soon took off, and before he new it he was playing guest slots at some of the top clubs in the UK and around the world. These have included a monthly residency at, U2's club, The Kitchen in Dublin; Ministry Of Sound (London); Tangled (Manchester); Space (Belfast); Enter The Dragon (Cardiff); plus international gigs in Holland, Denmark, Czech Republic, Belgium, Turkey, Israel, Hong Kong and Malaysia.
As well as being head of A&R and a director of Whoop! Records, Joel is also a director and co-owner of the hottest funky house label in the UK, Kinky Vinyl. He also finds time to run Mix Management, which manages some of the most talented house music producers in the country including Mike Monday and Stretch Sylvester.
All in all, Joel's wealth of experience as an international DJ, club promoter, executive producer and record company owner stands him in good stead to play to a crowd of house-loving clubbers anywhere in the world.
